Surfing Dunmore East, Co Waterford

Written By: Jade on November 23, 2009 2 Comments

As I packed the car last Thursday Waterford bound, I asked myself the usual question, will I bring my boards or not?, I’d been watching Magic Seaweed, and with a storms imminent bringing 40 to 50 knot onshore winds at Tramore and the usual South East Spots, I thought;

Fat Chance in Hell of Getting a Surf this weekend

Boy was I wrong, sans suit and stick, relegated to photographer, all I could do is watch. Decent swell poured in and blocked by a biting wind the local crew killed each and every peak.

I’ve often looked at ‘The Strand’ In Dunmore East and thought to myself “that’ll hold a wave, on the right day”, I’d never seen it work before this weekend. and what a shame to miss my local break 200 yards down from my family home going off….shite!!

The Moral of the Story ‘Never Ever Leave Your Board’s Behind”.
