Colossal Media | Analogue beats Digital Once Again

Written By: Jade on May 20, 2010 No Comment

‘Up There’ is a new minifilm produced by Mother NYC for Stella Artois detailing the awesome work of Colossal Media, the guys who paint rather than print the massive advertisements on to the side of buildings in NYC. A fascinating insight in a dying out craft.

I didn’t expect to have such an emotional reaction to this film, as a proveyor of digital media I find its easy to lose sight of the grit and craftsmanship that existed way before Mac became a house hold name, re-assigning those memories to the back of my head! As a person I find myself striving for modernity at every juncture, and if ever there was a film, or a moment to admit my naivity this is it! I duly pay an overdue homage to those incredable skills of which I can only wonder!

If you are going to watch this, do yourself a favour and expand it to full screen, its so backed full of beatiful imagery in needs some space to breath.upthereUP THERE from Jon on Vimeo.
